Shap Chippy Van Starts Tuesday 13th October!

Shap Chippy are planning to start a weekly fish & chip service from their mobile van which will be sited at Warcop Parish Hall car park every TUESDAY evening from 4:30 -7 pm. There will be a pre-booking system and it is hoped that the new scheme will start on the 13th October. This will be a great boost for everyone after the lockdown period and we expect residents will help collect meals for neighbours who can’t drive so that they don’t miss out!

Make sure that you spread the word!

Please check here for further details when we receive them and also look out for leaflets and posters.

Sign up for Parish Information!

Warcop Parish Council is trying to set up a parish-wide mailing list to enable it to send relevant information to the 220 households that make up the parish in Bleatarn, Sandford, Warcop and part of Coupland Beck. If you click on any page after the Home Page on our website, you will see a simple sign-up form. You can choose how to receive information and you can opt out whenever you like.

The idea is to tell you about the things the Parish Council is working on as well as telling you about its meetings and the minutes. We will also seek your opinion on issues from time to time – for example, we are currently meeting with Highways England to try and persuade them to create a northerly route for the dualled A66 that takes it over MOD land and further away from Warcop and nearby properties.

We would also like to tell you about events, classes or activities at the Parish Hall, as well as any developments the trustees are working on. For example, they have recently been successful in securing funding to build an extension to our store rooms as we do not have enough space, which is due to the hall’s success.

The whole point is to keep you – the nearly 600 residents of our parish – as fully up to date as possible, so that you feel informed and involved in our community.

Please sign up as soon as possible, so that we can build up a really good number of contacts, then we will begin to send out occasional emails.

Thank you,

David Keetley

Chair, Warcop Parish Council
