Please note that journeys should only be made if essential during the lockdown and that bus and rail operators are implementing various measures due to the coronavirus outbreak including social distancing and enhanced cleaning and that face coverings must be worn by passengers.

BUS SERVICES operating during lockdown
563 Appleby to Penrith (Mon – Fri) service (Stagecoach)
This service is operating to the timetable and improved route, now including Scattergate in Appleby, and on certain journeys Brampton and Long Marton, introduced on 4 January
571 Brough to Kirkby Stephen to Kendal (Mon) service (Cumbria Classic Coaches) is operating to the normal timetable
106 Penrith to Tebay to Shap to Kendal
This service is now operated by Cumbria Classic Coaches (since 5 January), currently on Tuesdays and Fridays, with the Wednesday service suspended until further notice.

572 Ravenstonedale to Kirkby Stephen to Barnard Castle (Wed) service
Western Dales Bus services all suspended including
S4 Brough to Kirkby Stephen (Fri) service
S5 Sedbergh to Kirkby Stephen to Kendal (Thurs) service
S6 Kirkby Stephen to Brough to Penrith (Tues) service
The introduction of this new S6 service on 5 January is delayed due to the lockdown
NB All Fellrunner services are suspended
Community Transport ie Community Wheels, Rural Wheels, Voluntary Social Car Schemes
The Community Wheels service to/from Appleby on Fridays is operating including connecting with the 563 bus to Penrith as normal, although capacity on the Community Wheels minibus is limited due to social distancing requirements. LEEDS – CARLISLE RAIL SERVICES
A temporary timetable was introduced, due to the lockdown, on 18 January on the Leeds to Carlisle line, until further notice. For more details, go to northernrailway.co.uk
