The next GNAA bag collection for Bleatarn, Sandford and Warcop will take place on Saturday 13th July during the monthly Coffee Morning, 10:00 – 11:30am. Please note that the GNAA van will arrive at 11:00am.

Free adult education courses for beginners
Got a new Android Smartphone but don’t know where to begin? Had an iPhone for ages but feel like you don’t get enough out of it?
Content: We introduce the basic functions of the phone, before exploring the settings and some key applications. Main topics are: connecting to Wi-Fi, how to access the Internet, access your emails, change basic settings, how to download Apps (eg. the MyGP or the NHS App), how to use your phone as a Sat Nav; and, how to take photos and organise them.
Each course has two sessions.
Android Smartphone – 10 May and 17 May 2024
10am to 12.30pm. Warcop Parish Hall (next to Primary School).
iPhone – 7 June and 14 June 2024
10am to 12.30pm. Warcop Parish Hall (next to the Primary School).
Please bring: notebook and pen, your glasses (if you wear them), and your fully charged Android Smartphone or iPhone.

Get Fit4Life!
Good news! This class is continuing till at least June, but we could do with more older members of the community to join it. Please see the attached flyer but note that the fee has gone up to £7 (pre-pay) as the initial grant subsidy has now stopped. It’s a fun class with activities tailored to everyone’s abilities.

Community Wheels Minibus Service
Don’t forget that this service runs from Warcop/Sandford to Appleby every Friday. Bus leaves 09:15am and returns to Warcop at 12:15pm. You’ll need to sign up for this scheme but then you can pay for journeys by card. From Warcop, it costs £3 for a round trip. Further details can be found on this poster:

Future Parish Hall Events – Dates for Your Diary
Get Fit 4 Life – Mondays 2pm until 3pm – Warcop Parish Hall
Seated/standing session. Fabulous way to stretch and work at a gentler pace. After a little catch up we warm up, strengthen, play games or do some pair work, and improve our mobility plus balance. Something to look forward to in the week. If you want to do it all seated, then that is fine. If you want to stand up for most of it, then that is fine too. I provide all equipment that is needed. New Hallmaster Online Booking System for Warcop Parish Hall
Please be aware that Warcop Parish Hall will soon be moving to a new Online Booking system called Hallmaster: https://v2.hallmaster.co.uk.
There will be a dedicated page on our current website, www.warcop.org.uk, with a “live” calendar of every booking that has been received. You can apply to make a booking online and will be sent an email to help you register and login your details and hire requirements. The old calendar, which was not always up to date, will eventually be removed.
More details to follow when this goes live.
There are new classes at Warcop Parish Hall from September. On Sundays 4 – 6pm there is a Yoga class. Here is a poster with more details:
On Monday afternoons, a new activity class for our older residents, involving fun games and movement called Fit4All run by Debbie Frankland. This runs from 2 – 3pm and costs £3. Here is a poster about that new class:

Thank you to all who brought bags to our July bag collection which raised £306. Our next collection will be in December.
So far, we have donated bags worth over £6,200 with our bi-annual collections. Thank you so much for supporting such an essential service.
